The reuse and recycling of material is the first step in promoting good practice in waste reduction. The NIRW Reuse Directory & Network is aimed at raising awareness of alternative shopping options as a waste reduction method.

This program is aimed at raising the awareness of both the business community and the consumer of the fact that the first option when seeking to purchase a range of materials could realistically start with looking at the recycled option.

The key objectives of the Reuse Directory and Network campaign are:

• Promotion of reuse businesses across the region
• To develop an internet based reuse directory
• Co-ordinate a regional reuse network of reuse businesses

The following industries have, to date, been identified as reuse sellers in the New England & North West of New South Wales.
