The Annual NIRW Chemical Collection Campaign has been in operation for a number of years and has been gauged an immense success in minimizing environmental and health risks for the region. This program is conducted in July & August of each year.

The program is conducted for unwanted farm and household chemicals. This is an annual campaign and there are various collection sites within the NIRW Member Council region. 

The program is aimed at reducing the risk of accidental poisoning and the inappropriate disposal of chemicals within the environment.

In 2010 this campaign collected a total 14,373.50 kg of rural and household hazardous waste which was diverted from landfills and the environment.
